ABC-X Model
The ABC-X Model explains how families respond to stressful events through four components: A (the stressor or event itself), B (the family’s resources or strengths to handle the stress), C (the perception or meaning the family gives to the event), and X (the crisis or outcome resulting from how these factors interact). A positive perception or strong resources can help families adapt and cope effectively, while negative perceptions or limited resources may lead to a crisis. This model helps us understand the dynamic process of family stress and resilience.
