ABC model (Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence)
The ABC model helps understand behaviors by examining three key parts: Antecedents, Behaviors, and Consequences. Antecedents are events or situations that happen before a behavior and can influence what someone does. The Behavior is the action or response itself. Consequences are what follow the behavior, either encouraging it to happen again or discouraging it. By analyzing these parts, people can identify triggers for behaviors and develop strategies to change unwanted actions or reinforce positive ones, making behavior management clearer and more effective.
