Abbe Faria

Abbe Faria was a Portuguese priest and pioneering scientist born in 1746 who is best known for his work in early hypnotism and psychological research. He conducted experiments demonstrating that the mind and body can be influenced through suggestive techniques, laying foundational ideas for modern hypnosis. Faria also contributed to the development of the concept that the mind can influence physical health and proposed early theories about mental health treatment.
