AATIP (Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program)
The Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) was a secret U.S. government initiative launched in 2007 to investigate unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), commonly known as UFOs. Its goal was to assess potential military or national security threats posed by unusual aircraft or phenomena that could not be immediately explained. The program studied reports from military personnel and collected data on sightings, aiming to determine if such objects were advanced foreign technology or could pose a threat. Although officially disclosed in 2017, AATIP's existence reflects broader efforts to understand and evaluate unexplained aerial phenomena for safety and security reasons.
