A-weighting
A-weighting is a method used to measure sound levels in a way that reflects how the human ear perceives loudness. Since our ears are more sensitive to certain frequencies—mainly mid-range sounds—A-weighting adjusts the measurement to emphasize those frequencies and reduce the impact of very low or high pitches. This creates a standardized "sound level" that aligns more closely with human hearing sensitivity, making it useful for assessing noise exposure, regulations, and comparing sound environments accurately.
