A-Theory
A-Theory is a philosophical idea about what makes something the same person over time. It suggests that personal identity depends on a continuous underlying "essence" or core self—like a soul or an unchanging inner being—that remains constant despite physical or psychological changes. According to this view, as long as this core remains intact, the person remains the same, even if their body or memories change. It emphasizes that personal identity is rooted in an intrinsic, enduring aspect, rather than just external features or psychological continuity alone.
