Ağrı Plateau
The Ağrı Plateau is a large, high-altitude area located in eastern Turkey, near the border with Armenia. It covers approximately 22,000 square kilometers and sits around 1,800 meters (about 6,000 feet) above sea level. The region is characterized by its expansive grasslands, rugged mountains, and a semi-arid climate. It is a significant geographical feature of Eastern Anatolia, influencing local climate, agriculture, and wildlife. The plateau also holds historical and cultural importance, with nearby sites like Mount Ararat, traditionally viewed as the biblical resting place of Noah's Ark.
