A-B-C Model (Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence Model)

The A-B-C Model stands for Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence, a way to understand how actions happen and how they can be shaped. An antecedent is a trigger or situation that occurs before a behavior. The behavior is the actual action or response. The consequence is what happens afterward that can either encourage or discourage the behavior in the future. For example, if a student raises their hand (behavior) after a teacher asks a question (antecedent), and the teacher praises them (consequence), the student is more likely to raise their hand again. This model helps identify how environments influence behavior and guide positive changes.
