77th Infantry Brigade
The 77th Infantry Brigade was a specialized military unit within the U.S. Army during World War I, formed in 1917. It was unique because it was composed mainly of young men from New York City, including many recent immigrants. The brigade trained these men quickly to prepare them for combat and to support the American Expeditionary Forces in Europe. Although it was a temporary organization, the 77th Infantry Brigade played a crucial role in mobilizing and inducting troops, contributing to America's wartime efforts. After the war, the unit was disbanded, and its members moved on to other military roles.
