6th century CE
The 6th century CE refers to the period from the year 501 to 600 AD. It was a time of significant change across the world, particularly in Europe, Asia, and parts of Africa. In Europe, the Western Roman Empire had fallen, leading to the rise of various kingdoms and the spreading influence of Christianity. In the Byzantine Empire, Justinian I sought to restore the empire’s former glory. Meanwhile, in Asia, the Sui and early Tang dynasties in China unified large parts of the country. This century set the stage for future political, cultural, and religious developments across the globe.
