4'33"

4'33" is a musical piece by John Cage where the performer remains silent for four minutes and thirty-three seconds. During this time, no intentional sound is produced by the performer. Instead, the audience’s ambient environment—the sounds of the surroundings—becomes the music. Cage’s intention was to challenge traditional ideas of music and highlight the role of listening, emphasizing that silence and the unpredictable sounds around us are integral parts of our auditory experience. It encourages active listening and awareness of the environment as a form of musical expression.
