381st Bombardment Group (H)

The 381st Bombardment Group (Heavy) was a United States Army Air Forces unit during World War II, primarily equipped with B-17 Flying Fortress bombers. Activated in 1942, it played a significant role in the strategic bombing campaign against Nazi Germany, flying missions over Europe to destroy military targets, infrastructure, and industrial sites. The group operated from bases in England and contributed to the Allied effort to weaken German war capability. After the war, the group was deactivated, but its legacy remains as part of America's air combat history.
