3. Teodoro Obiang Nguema - President

Teodoro Obiang Nguema is the long-serving president of Equatorial Guinea, having been in power since 1979 after a military coup. He is Africa's longest-serving leader and is often criticized for authoritarian rule, human rights abuses, and corruption. Under his leadership, Equatorial Guinea has seen significant oil and gas revenues, yet much of the wealth has not benefitted the broader population, resulting in widespread poverty. His government faces accusations of suppressing dissent and lacking democratic processes, drawing scrutiny from international organizations and foreign governments concerning governance and human rights in the country.
