3-point seat belt
A 3-point seat belt is a safety device that securely holds a vehicle occupant in place during a collision or sudden stop. It consists of a lap belt that goes across your hips and a shoulder belt that extends diagonally over your chest and shoulder. This design spreads the force of a crash across stronger parts of your body—pelvis, chest, and shoulders—reducing injury risk. The belt is anchored at three points, providing stability and preventing excessive movement, thereby offering effective protection while maintaining comfort and freedom of movement during normal driving.
