28nm Process Technology
28nm process technology refers to the manufacturing method used to produce semiconductor chips, such as those in smartphones and computers. The "28nm" denotes the size of the tiny transistors inside the chip—about 28 nanometers, or 28 billionths of a meter. Smaller transistors allow for more to fit on a chip, increasing performance and energy efficiency, while reducing heat. Advancements from larger to smaller processes improve speed and power consumption. The 28nm process was a significant technology milestone, balancing manufacturing complexity with performance, and has been widely used before newer, smaller processes like 7nm and 5nm were developed.
