2030 Challenge
The 2030 Challenge is an initiative aimed at significantly reducing the carbon footprint of buildings by requiring new construction and major renovations to reach high energy performance standards. Specifically, it encourages buildings to consume no more than 50% of the energy used by typical buildings built to current codes, with an ultimate goal for all new buildings to be carbon-neutral by 2030. The challenge promotes sustainability, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and decreasing reliance on fossil fuels, thus helping combat climate change and move towards more environmentally responsible urban development.
