2021 Bengal Legislative Assembly election
The 2021 Bengal Legislative Assembly election was held in eight phases from March to April to elect 294 members for the West Bengal state government. Voters chose representatives from various political parties, primarily the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and others. The election was significant as it determined the state’s leadership for the next five years. The TMC, led by Mamata Banerjee, aimed to retain power, while the BJP sought to expand its presence. Ultimately, TMC won a majority, allowing Mamata Banerjee to continue serving as Chief Minister.
