2020 elections

The 2020 United States elections were held on November 3, 2020, primarily to elect the President and members of Congress. The main candidates for President were incumbent Republican Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden. The election saw a record voter turnout, largely influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to expanded mail-in voting options. Biden won the presidency by securing 306 electoral votes to Trump's 232. The election was marked by significant polarization, and while some claimed widespread fraud, multiple courts and election officials found no evidence to support those claims. Biden was inaugurated on January 20, 2021.
