2016 Alsace Wine Harvest Report
The 2016 Alsace wine harvest was challenging due to a cold, rainy spring and summer, leading to uneven ripening. Despite these conditions, many producers achieved good quality grapes with vibrant acidity and aromatic complexity. Early varieties were harvested in August, while some later ones extended into late September. Overall, the vintage produced expressive wines with fresh, lively character, though yields were somewhat lower than average. The combination of weather and careful vineyard management resulted in wines that reflect the region’s signature balance of fruit, acidity, and elegance.
