2010 Dream Act
The 2010 Dream Act was proposed legislation that aimed to provide young undocumented immigrants, often called "Dreamers," a pathway to legal status. It sought to offer conditional permanent residency and the opportunity to apply for citizenship if they met certain criteria, like attending college or serving in the military. The goal was to recognize students who grew up in the U.S. and contribute positively to society. While it passed the House of Representatives, it did not become law at that time. The Dream Act represented an effort to address the legal and status challenges faced by young undocumented individuals.
