Andrea Leadsom is a British politician who has been a member of the Conservative Party. She was first elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the South Northamptonshire constituency in 2010. Leadsom held various positions in government, including Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. She came to prominence during the Brexit referendum, advocating for leaving the European Union. Leadsom also ran for leadership of the Conservative Party in 2016 but eventually withdrew, supporting Theresa May.
