1D and 2D barcodes
One-dimensional (1D) barcodes are the familiar horizontal lines of varying widths and spacing, like the UPC codes on retail products. They encode data in a single row, making them easy to scan quickly with a barcode reader. Two-dimensional (2D) barcodes, such as QR codes, store information both horizontally and vertically, allowing them to hold much more data in a compact space. They can be scanned from any angle and are often used for digital links, tickets, or product details. In essence, 1D barcodes are simple and quick for basic data, while 2D barcodes offer greater storage and versatility.
