1994 uprising

The 1994 uprising in Zimbabwe, known as the Zimbabwean rebellion or the late 1990s protests, was a series of political and economic protests against the government's policies under President Robert Mugabe. Citizens demanded land reforms, better living conditions, and democratic freedoms. Economic decline, hyperinflation, and corruption fueled public discontent. The protests included strikes, demonstrations, and clashes with security forces. While initially peaceful, some events became violent. The uprising highlighted widespread frustrations over governance and economic hardship, prompting both domestic and international attention. Although it didn’t lead to immediate regime change, it marked significant unrest in Zimbabwe's political history.
