1993 Waco siege

The 1993 Waco siege was a 51-day standoff near Waco, Texas, involving the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) and the Branch Davidians, a religious religious group led by David Koresh. The FBI took over after a failed initial raid, leading to a tense tension between law enforcement and the Davidians. On April 19, 1993, a fire broke out during a final assault, resulting in the deaths of 76 people, including many children. The event raised questions about law enforcement tactics and government transparency, becoming a significant moment in debates over government authority and religious freedom.
