1918 Revolution
The 1918 Revolution in Russia was a pivotal event that led to the overthrow of the Tsarist autocracy and the rise of Soviet power. Amid widespread unrest caused by World War I, economic hardship, and social inequalities, protests and strikes grew. The February Revolution forced Tsar Nicholas II to abdicate, ending centuries of monarchy. A provisional government took power, but it struggled with ongoing crises. Later, the October Revolution, led by the Bolsheviks under Lenin, seized control, establishing a communist government. This shift drastically transformed Russia's political landscape and laid the groundwork for the Soviet Union.
