1913 Native Act
The 1913 Native Land Act was a law in South Africa that restricted Black South Africans from owning land in most parts of the country. It aimed to control land ownership and reinforce racial divisions by reserving large areas for white South Africans and limiting Black land rights to specific regions. This law greatly disadvantaged Black communities, contributing to economic and social inequalities that persisted for many years. It marked a significant step in the institutionalization of racial segregation under colonial and apartheid policies.
