1913 Land Act

The 1913 Land Act was a South African law that aimed to regulate land ownership, particularly affecting Black South Africans. It restricted Black individuals from owning large portions of land in urban areas, reserving most land for White South Africans. The law also established categories of land use and aimed to control urban expansion. Its purpose was to enforce racial segregation in landownership, reinforcing apartheid-era policies, and limiting Black participation in property ownership and economic development in urban regions.
