1879 Anglo-Zulu War
The 1879 Anglo-Zulu War was a conflict between the British Empire and the Zulu Kingdom in what is now South Africa. Britain aimed to expand its colonial reach, and tensions escalated when they issued demands for Zulu disarmament. Despite initial Zulu victories, notably at the Battle of Isandlwana, where they inflicted a significant defeat on British forces, the war eventually turned in favor of the British with key battles such as Rorke's Drift and the defeat of the Zulu at Ulundi. The war resulted in the incorporation of the Zulu Kingdom into British territory, ending Zulu independence and significantly impacting regional history.
