14 March Movement
The 14 March Movement was a Lebanese political development that occurred on March 14, 2005. It was a coalition of various political and civil society groups that united in response to the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. The movement demanded national sovereignty, independence from foreign influence, and the end of Syrian military presence in Lebanon. It mobilized large-scale protests, advocating for democratic reforms and political accountability. The movement played a key role in shaping Lebanon’s post-war politics and contributed to the withdrawal of Syrian forces from Lebanon.
