12-meter class

The 12-meter class refers to a category of racing sailboats defined by specific measurement rules that determine their size and design. Despite the name, these boats are typically around 65 to 75 feet long. The classification was created to allow different boats to compete fairly by standardizing key dimensions and design aspects. The most famous 12-meter class yacht was used in the America's Cup from 1958 to 1987. Modern 12-meter class yachts are admired for their elegant, innovative design and are often seen in racing and recreational sailing events.
