11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own)

The 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own) was a distinguished cavalry regiment of the British Army, established in 1857. Known for their mobility and reconnaissance capabilities, Hussars are light cavalry units trained for fast, flexible deployment and combat support. This regiment was named after Prince Albert, consort to Queen Victoria, reflecting its royal patronage. Over time, it participated in various military campaigns, including the Boer War and World War I. In 1922, it merged with the 10th Royal Hussars to form the Royal Hussars. Today, its legacy persists through historical regiments recognizing its contributions to British military history.
