Norman Borlaug was an American agronomist and humanitarian, often referred to as the "Father of the Green Revolution." Born in 1914, he developed high-yielding, disease-resistant wheat varieties that significantly increased agricultural productivity in developing countries, particularly in Mexico, India, and Pakistan during the mid-20th century. His work helped avert famine and save millions from hunger, earning him the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970. Borlaug’s innovations in agricultural science emphasized the importance of sustainable farming practices and food security, making a lasting impact on global agriculture and helping to shape policies that promote food access worldwide.
